66Do Tabby Cats Have a Different Personality to Other Cats
I have 2 tabby cats which I think are lovely, but then I may be bias.
Both of the cats have been with me since they were kittens. The eldest is a girl and she is 9 years old and called Taffeta. She is short haired and total tabby from head to toe there is not one patch of another colour on her.
My youngest cat is a boy and is 5 years old and called Pipsqueak. Now unlike Taffeta, Pipsqueak has white paws and a white chest with a small streak of white on his forehead.
Many people consider tabby cats to be moggies and not true breeds and I guess that this is the case however Taffeta was once at the vets and he said to us that she comes from a line of pedigree cats. Does this mean then that if we mated Taffeta with another tabby cat that comes from a line of pedigree cats we would start a new breed of pure tabby cats? It is an interesting thought.
Both of my cats purr very loadly so I guess in that way they are like other cats, though I must confess and have not heard many other peoples cats purr as loud as mine do.
Taffeta's personality, is very kind and caring. She knows when you are upset or feeling down as she will come to you without being asked and cuddle up to you for comfort. Do other cats do this? That again is a question that I have not yet found an answer to.
Pipsqueak on the other hand is a very "people cat". He loves being around people even if a stranger comes into the house he will rub himself up against them without a second thought. So I would say that Pipsqueaks personality is outgoing and boutrious because he is a people lover. This I would say is like other cats that I have seen.
So to the question Do Tabby Cats Have a Different Personality to Other Cats? I would have to say that they probably do in some ways but in others they don't.

I Have a tabby cat also her name is Harmonie :) shes 3months old. But she is however not cuddly. Shes very mean and when I have company over my friends try and pet her but Harmonie will reach out bite scratch and even hiss at them. She also attacks me. But!...i love her and she knows it. :)
we have 6 yr old tabby, she has had a hard start in life as she started as a ferrell kitten but got stuck in a hot heating system and left her with toes missing on her back leg, burnt ears and sindged earlids, she aslo lost her second home for being too affectionate.
teddy is the most loving cat i have ever met she loves to sit and snuggle in the afternoons when the children are at school and again when they are in bed, she has got into a habbit of going to check on them when they are asleep too now (she runs up starirs and pushes their door open to look then when all is quite waits on our bed for cuddles) she loves to talk to us with the biggest meow when getting attention. she really is the most beautfull and most loving cat. tabbys are the best
my tabby is also very caring when she senses something is wrong she seems to smooch up to me although I am very emotional person, she also seems to sense when storms are coming so I think of her as my weather cat too. I have had her since she was 4 and she is now about 10 years old. She is an amazing cat and has given us much joy but she is a very hungry cat and demands to be fed often.
I have a orange tickled tail tabby, male 7 years old.He was born in my bed. When he was younger he had so much energy! I adopted another kitten, female sieamese. My tabby calmed down and became a leader. He is so affectionate, loves to cuddle next to you. Loves to sleep right next to my head and eats my hair. He also loves to eat! I agree with the other comments about them senses when there owners are sad. My tabby get into bad moods, but don't we all? Even though I have two different breeds of cats, I feel like they have a different personality just like us people.

My tortoiseshell cats is very comforting as well
when she sees me sad or my mum she will come and sit with you and comfort you
she always seems to be there when ur sad
and my tabby cat purrs really loud
but my tortoishell doesnt
so i think is a tabby thing for them to purr loud
